MDH has signed a national agreement with Elsevier

This article was written before our official name change on January 1, 2022 from Mälardalen University (MDH) to Mälardalen University (MDU).

The agreement entails that researchers and students once again have gained access to the publisher's journals, and will also make it easier for researchers to publish open access free of charge.

The new agreement gives students and researchers free access to Elsevier's journals, which has not been possible since the previous agreement expired. Elsevier is one of the largest publishers of scientific journals, and the new agreement means that more than 2,000 journals are again available.

A new feature of the agreement is that, as of the turn of the year, researchers will be able to publish articles openly available at no additional charge in a majority of Elsevier's journals

The agreement has been negotiated by BIBSAM, the national consortium responsible for agreements on access to electronic journals and databases.
