An International University
International activities play an important role at MDU.
The co-production perspective also permeates our international operations and the University works in a regional-global context for value and benefit for the development of society, regardless of area.
MDU's internationalisation work is based on a set of values where intercultural differences are seen as part of one's own everyday life and where these have a great value for the individual's intellectual development. Quality and competitiveness should be the guiding principles for international operations.
MDU aims to offer education and research of a high international standard. One of the university's overall goals is that all students and employees should have the opportunity for some form of intercultural contact or activity. The University strives to increase the opportunity for exchange between different countries in the world for both teachers, students, researchers and administrative staff.
For the students, studying abroad and in multicultural environments at home means the opportunity for new experiences, an increased intercultural competence and a higher degree of employability.
We are in touch with the whole world
The University has 145 agreements with 47 higher education institutions worldwide for teacher, doctoral student and student mobility. These agreements cover one or more subject areas and primarily involve mobility at different levels. In addition, there are many agreements that also include joint development of training plans for courses and programmes, joint and double diplomas, cooperation with companies, opportunities for degree projects abroad and more.
The University participates in several different externally funded cooperation and mobility programmes such as Nordplus, Linnaeus-Palme, Minor Fields Studies, ISEP, Science without Borders, ASEM-DUO as well as several of the EU's major programmes, Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus Life Long Learning Programme, Tempus, Marie Curie, Framework Programme for Research and others.
Global recruitment
Since 2011, MDU is actively recruiting international students who wish to obtain a Swedish degree. The University offers a few programmes on Bachelor's level and about ten on Master's level. Common to the programmes is that all teaching is conducted entirely in English and that the programmes have a strong research connection. The University has made some geographical priorities for the international recruitment and currently focuses the recruitment activities primarily on India and Ghana.
