Manage staff account

Via this page, you can manage your staff account by:

  • Changing your password (reminder sent annually).
  • Upgrading your assurance level from AL1 to AL2 (requires Swedish personal identity number and BankID).
  • Resetting your password if forgotten (requires BankID).

Note: Your computer cannot be unlocked remotely if you are off campus and have forgotten your password.

Important information before you change your password

Read this page before proceeding. Requirements differ depending on whether you use a PC or Mac.

For PC users

Your computer must be connected to a network.

On campus:
  • Wired: Connect via docking station.
  • Wireless: Connect to VPN before changing your password.
Remote work:

You must connect to VPN before changing your password. If you missed the deadline, change your password first, then connect with the new password.

Sync your new password by locking your computer and unlocking it again using the new password.

For Mac users

Connect to the internet. VPN is not required.

Sync your password via JamfConnect:

  1. Click the JamfConnect icon.
  2. Sign in with your MDU email and new password.
  3. Enter your old local password when prompted and click Sync.

Update Eduroam password

  • Open network settings
  • Forget the Eduroam network
  • Reconnect on campus using your new password.

Skipping this step locks your account for 30 minutes.

Change password

Reset forgotten password

If forgotten or missed the deadline, reset via the staff account link (requires BankID). Without BankID, contact Studenttorget for identity verification.

Upgrade assurance level AL1 → AL2

Requires BankID. Without it, contact Studenttorget to verify your identity and complete the upgrade.
